NSWP member organisation the English Collective of Prostitutes and Dr Laura Connelly from the University of Salford have published new research that looks at EU Migrant Sex Work in the UK Post-Referendum.  

The research, conducted in 2019, shows that violence, xenophobia and threats of deportation against migrant sex workers from the European Union have risen since the EU Referendum.

STOPAIDS has published a new position paper supporting the decriminalisation of sex work, designed to support STOPAIDS members to advocate for decriminalisation within their own advocacy and programmes, and support the global sex worker rights movement.

Empower Foundation has released a new resource library on their website, comprising books, reports, letters and films on a variety of topics linked to sex workers' rights in Thailand. You can access the full set of resources here (most available in English and Thai).

Le projet de recherche "Gérer le Travail du Sexe: Information pour les Tierces Personnes et les Travailleuses du Sexe des Secteurs Incall et Outcall" qui a conduit à la ressource «Beyond Pimps, les acheteurs et les parasites", a souligné les chercheurs que, loin du stéréotype diabolisé et racialisée de «pimp», des tiers dans l'industrie du sexe ont des relations complexes, variées et souvent banales avec les travailleurs du sexe. Cependant, contrairement à d'autres industries, les rôles de tiers sont souvent criminalisées, qui a un impact sur la capacité des travailleurs du sexe d'attendre ou de créer un travail en toute sécurité environment.

Au Cambodge, les représentants de l’ordre sont souvent aussi ceux qui infligent certains des pires abus. Les travailleuses du sexe, en particulier, savent bien ce qu’il en est. Des femmes et des jeunes filles travailleuses du sexe sont victimes de violence, de viol, de harcèlement sexuel, de racket, d’arrestation et de détention arbitraires, de travail forcé, ainsi que d’autres traitements cruels et humiliants de la part de la police, d’agents de sécurité des parcs publics, d’agents du gouvernement, et d’employés des centres et des offices gérés par le ministère des Affaires sociales, des Vétérans et de la Réhabilitation de la jeunesse (le MOSAVY).
